Overall Job Purpose:
The HR Manager is responsible for providing an effective and efficient human resource generalist function that is aligned with departmental and company/brand strategic goals. This role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and delivers value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives. The incumbent will be expected to successfully implement HR strategy and deliver customer service within the organization. Responsibilities include, inter alia, strategic partnership, organization design, recruitment and selection, employment equity, salary and benefits management, employee relations, talent acquisition and retention, performance management, change management, diversity management, skills development, policies and procedures, HR reporting, transformation, HR projects, and managing staff. Key metrics will be becoming a trusted advisor to the business and delivery excellent customer service that is required to support a rapidly growing business like Rosebank College. The successful candidate will be required to be familiar with and support all Group People initiatives meeting all standards of quality and deadlines.
HR Plan/ Strategy- Proactively formulate and manage complex HR aspects of the Departmental/Operational Plan, which includes all facets of Talent Management.
- Act as a strategic Business Partner and Advisor to all IIE Rosebank College campuses and the National Office in support of all HR-related matters and HR strategy.
- Develop and implement the HR plan to enable business objectives and identify gaps, propose and implement changes necessary to cover people-related risks and change management.
- Provide proactive support, advice, and solutions to business leaders and deliver input to business strategy.
- Implement, oversee, and enhance talent management strategies, including succession planning, skills development, and career progression programs.
- Ensure effective workforce planning and retention strategies to support business needs.
- Support business leaders in fostering a culture of high performance and employee engagement.
- Support training and development programs that align with business needs.
- Facilitate coaching and mentorship programs for career growth.
- Support leadership development initiatives to build internal capability
- Ensure that recruitment efforts align with business growth objectives, collaborating with leadership to forecast talent needs, optimize workforce planning, and maintain a strong talent pipeline.
- Continuously refinine hiring strategies and leveraging data-driven insights
- Driving organizational success and employee satisfaction.
Talent Development & Strategy Execution
- Develop and implement a structured talent development framework that supports business objectives.
- Identify skills gaps and design development programs to enhance employee performance.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of learning pathways for various career levels.
Leadership Development & Succession Planning
- Develop high-potential employees through customized leadership coaching programs.
- Work with senior leadership to identify and nurture future leaders within the organization.
- Support career progression through mentorship-driven succession planning initiatives.
- Implement executive coaching programs for senior managers and high-potential talent.
Performance Management
- Driving a high-performance culture by taking accountability for an effective and well-articulated performance management process
- Conduct performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures and take corrective actions where necessary
- Providing strategic guidance in the implementation of human resources policies, procedures and practices
- Lead the department by managing appointments, promotions, and industrial relations issues conjunction with the Human Resources Support Service Unit
Conflict Resolution & Disciplinary Processes
- Manage and resolve workplace conflicts through mediation and fair grievance handling
- Ensure compliance with disciplinary procedures and labor laws
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies aligned with labor regulations.
- Ensure company-wide adherence to workplace policies and ethical standards
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment to enhance employee satisfaction
- Implement engagement strategies and action plans based on feedback
- Develop wellness programs to support employees' mental and physical health
- Promote work-life balance initiatives to enhance productivity and retention
Minimum Educational Requirement:
NQF level 7 in Human Resources or Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent)
NQF level 8 in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Labour Law/Relations (Advantageous)
- 5-8 years as a Human Resources Consultant/ Officer
- 2 years as a Human Resources Manager
