Job Purpose:
To manage and lead the business units to ensure campuses are managed effectively. To identify markets for new business opportunities per the business goals and strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic Management
- Develop medium- to long-term strategies aligned with the institution's overall growth objectives and vision.
- Effectively communicate strategic plans to Campus Heads and collaborate with them to achieve short and long-term goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of strategies to ensure alignment with the institution's overarching strategic goals.
- Identify and present opportunities for brand expansion to Exco and MANCO, contributing to organisational growth.
- Ensure that business units (campuses) recruit and retain qualified staff aligned with strategic objectives and organisational standards.
- Support business units in formulating a three-year strategic plan that integrates seamlessly into the institution’s five-year strategic vision.
- Foster a collaborative environment where experience, best practices, and institutional knowledge are shared across all business units
Financial Management
- Collaborate with the CFO and COO to develop and oversee financial modelling and daily operations for new campuses, ensuring alignment with short-term and long-term organisational goals.
- Review campus management accounts to identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Negotiate annual service level agreements (SLAs) with new and existing vendors, ensuring compliance with BBBEE requirements and organisational standards.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, providing strategic guidance to Campus Heads in drafting and finalising campus budgets.
Sales/Marketing
- Ensure that campuses effectively implement sales strategies for student acquisition, adhering to established sales and marketing principles.
- Conduct regular market intelligence to analyse competitor activities and market trends.
- Review sales reports to track performance and ensure that sales targets and goals are consistently met.
- Align sales forecasts with budgetary constraints and organisational objectives.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing functional managers to develop and refine strategies for both new and existing campuses.
- Monitor and analyse market and competitor activities, providing actionable insights, detailed reports, and strategic recommendations.
- Oversee the development and execution of campus-specific sales strategies and action plans to drive growth and achieve organisational goals.
Brand Management
- Ensure the consistent maintenance and enhancement of the organisation's brand image across all platforms and interactions.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience to all campus stakeholders, aligning with organisational values and standards.
- Utilise market research insights to design and tailor qualifications that meet the needs and expectations of the target market.
- Manage and maintain internal and external relations to ensure that problem areas are resolved timeously.
- Drive a student-centric environment and culture that focuses on achieving a student experience aligned with the institution's value proposition.
- Continually review current systems and processes and refine where necessary to ensure an optimal student experience.
- Oversee the use of the IIE Assist platform to monitor and evaluate student satisfaction.
- Oversee the management of multiple projects, ensuring effective coordination and execution.
- Ensure adherence to project deadlines and milestones, maintaining accountability across teams.
- Drive continuous improvement of business processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Regularly review and assess processes and practices to identify and implement opportunities for increased efficiency across business units.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Monitor and manage staff performance, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and performance standards.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications
Minimum
- Post-graduate/Honours qualification (NQF Level 8) in commerce or similar
Advantageous
- Master's Qualification (NQF Level 9) qualification in Business Administration or similar.
Experience
Minimum
- 10 Years experience in a General Management Function.
- 5 to 10 Years experience in Business Management.
- 10 Years experience in Staff Management
