SENIOR PROGRAMME OPERATIONS MANAGER: ASSESSMENTS

Job Purpose:

The Senior Programme Operations Manager is responsible for managing the national assessments for IIE qualifications and operational processes within the respective faculty. This requires an individual to be an effective problem solver and communicator to both sites and the Central Academic Team (CAT).

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assessment Management

  • Quality assures the national assessment timetables for IIE qualifications
  • Oversee the distribution of the correct question papers and memos as per the assessment cycle for the different offerings to all sites
  • Manage assessment queries from sites and escalate to CAT if required
  • Monitor and manage the capturing of assessment results timeously on the administrative system
  • Manage and oversee assessment exceptions including phase-out qualifications
  • Manage the internal and external moderation process for the faculty, within the specified timeframes.
  • Collaborate with the academic teams on any marking concerns

Academic Operations

  • Manages faculties in collaboration with the Head of School
  • Ensure effective rollout of modules, which includes resource requirements and managing the relations with external partners (where required)

Training and Development

  • Provide ongoing training and support to sites on policies and processes
  • Amend processes in line with policy changes
  • Support sites in developing campus operation teams

People Management

  • Conduct performance planning session, track and monitor performance in accordance with performance contracts
  • Conduct performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures and take corrective actions where necessary
  • Complete Performance Management contracts and documentation
  • Provide coaching and feedback to employees on how to improve and sustain their performance
  • Manage Personal Development conversations and the completion of Personal Development Plans
  • Lead the department by managing appointments, promotions, and industrial relations issues conjunction with the Human Resources Support Service Unit
  • Conduct disciplinary actions as per the company’s policy and procedure where necessary

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications

  • NQF Level 7 Qualification in Business Administration
  • NQF Level 8 Qualification in Business Administration (Advantageous)

Experience

  • 3 Years Higher education management experience
  • 5 – 7 Years Administration experience at a Higher Educational Institution
